Hi All, When I try to receive a file from someone on MSN Messenger, it prompts: "This file was considered unsafe." How can I remedy this? Caitlin

Usually, if it's a sound file, which I'm assuming it was, you can add .zip or .txt or .doc or .jpg to the end of the file, and messenger won't know the difference. I'm also assuming you use Windows Messenger on XP and you have Windows Service Pack 2, right?

Are you using Norton Antivirus? You need to disable instent messenger protection.

I have Windows XP SP 2 and am using Windows Messenger. Also, yes, I had Norton but I don't anymore, I don't think. Thanks for your guys' help, anymore would be greatly accepted?

Okay, so how do you actually rename it? Does the person who's sending it to you have to rename it to .zip or whatever? Thanks!
